The legend of Yeti has always fascinated me. When I was driving Skoda Yeti today it captivated me right away and reminded me of the popular legend of Yeti. This beauty instantly appealed to my senses as it was so good at handling and the powerful engine obeyed my commands like a slave.  I must say it become one of the cars I would like to have in my Garage.

I drove both the all new 2X4 and the 4X4 variants. Its turbocharged diesel engine that produces peak power of 140 bhps at 4200 rpms and 320 Nm of peak torque at 2500 rpm. This power plant comes with turbocharger with self-aligning blades, in-line, liquid cooling system, high-pressure direct injection system and 16V DOHC. Skoda has come up with two variants in Yeti. One is a same 140 bhp one that I mentioned above and another is a 110 bhp engine that produced a 25o Nm of torque at 2500 rpms and is a 2X4 WD (front wheel). The company claims a mileage of 17.70 on these SUV’s which is best in class.

Both the engines (the 110 bhp one and the 140 bhp one) are very responsive and you will not feel the lack of power in the 110 bhp 2X4 WD variant. The major differences between the 2X4 front wheel drive and 4X4 all-wheel-drive version is the transmission. The 2X4 variant comes with a five-speed manual transmission and the 4X4 variant comes with a six-speed one. It just takes under 12 seconds for the SUV to reach the 100 km/h mark from Zero. The cabin is spacious and company has done extremely well in keeping the engine noises away from the cabin. The quality of plastic used in the cabin is top of the line and the storage spaces for nick knack is well sorted out which make the interiors even more practical.Skoda Yeti

Yeti is a capable offroader as well. Especially with the 4X4 variant you can never fall short of power. Hill Descent Control comes handy while offroading and makes sure you stay safe while on uneven terrain. The Off-Road Traction Control perks up road grip of the vehicle while you are negotiating slush, slippery and sandy terrain. Features like Hill Hold Control, EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution),Hydraulic Brake Assistance, Mechanical Brake Assistance, ASR (Anti Slip Regulation),  Traction Control System Electronic Differential Lock, Electronic Stability Programme, Drive-off assistance, Off-road ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), Off-road ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), Off-road TCS (Traction Control System) and Off-road EDL (Electronic Differential Lock) makes Yeti super safe while negotiating the uneven terrain or while offroading.
