Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Launched

Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS

Though there were many expectations from new Pulsar NS 200, I must say that Bajaj managed to exceed them by a huge margin. The new motorcycle from the stable of Bajaj can give many motorcycle manufacturers in India a run for their money. The designing and styling is par excellent and the triple spark plug technology introduced in this motorcycle that assists fast combustion makes the engine very fuel efficient. This is one of the first single cylinder motorcycles that houses triple spark plug technology.

I must say that Bajaj has raised the bar once again with this stunner. Its street fighter looks coupled with its peak power of 23.5 bhp at 9500 rpm and a torque of 18.3 Nm at 8000 rpm is going to make it a conqueror on roads. This new machine comes with 200cc SOHC (single overhead camshaft) liquid cooled power plant with four valves and 6-speed gearbox. Company has claimed a fuel economy of 58 km/l if the bike is driven in the economy zone.

The all new 2012 Pulsar NS can reach a top speed of 136kmph. It can reach from 0 to 60 in just 3.8 seconds and crosses the 100 kilometer per hour mark in less than 10 seconds (9.8 seconds to be precise). A great ground clearance of 167mm also makes it a capable off roader as well. With a wheelbase of 1363mm,  it is comfortable for long drives.

Pulsar 200 NS is an all new machine with double downtubes front end suspension and Nitrox mono shock suspension at the rear. Pulsar 200 NS, is 2017mm long, 1195mm tall and 804 mm wide. Its 17 inch alloy wheels come with 280mm disc at the front and 230mm disc at the rear that makes it come to halt quickly and smoothly. A better road grip is ensured with a 100/80 tubeless tyre at the front and 130/70 at the rear.

Pulsar 200 NS has a 12 liters fuel tank that gives you good enough range if we take the company’s claim of fuel economy of 58 kmpl. The pricing is yet to come and I believe it will be somewhere near Rs. 90,000 and the booking may start shortly. It’s expected to be available in the showrooms from April, 2012.
