With Harley Davidson officially announcing its entry in India, if not serious and direct but for sure some competition is here for our own cult motorcycles Royal Enfield Bullet. Harley Davidson plans to launch its bikes in India by mid of 2010. The big daddy of all the American brands is now all set to go full throttle in India.
They have setup a subsidiary in Gurgaon and have shortlisted most of the cities where HD planning to appoint dealerships. The probable cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and either one from Chandigarh or Ludhiana.
They may launch Sportsters, dynas, Softails, Touring, Fat Boy, V-Rod and CVO. HD is planning an aggressive pricing so that more and more biker can buy the legendry motorbike. The price range will start from 7 lakh INR and will go up to 20 lakh INR. Yes, HD is planning to tie-up with some banks in India to provide loans to those who can’t pay the entire amount at one go.
Along with the motorcycles the full range of accessories and riding gear is going to be made available for complete Harley Davidson Experience. In long run and as the opportunity comes Harley has plans to brings its other brands like MV Augusta and Buell.
