Ola Electric Scooter S1 Pro

The Bengaluru Based Ola Electric unveiled the country’s first indigenously developed lithium-ion cell the NMC 2170. As per the company the mass production of the cell will begin from its Chennai-based Gigafactory by 2023. Ola Electric has developed this cell keeping in mind the climatic and other indigenous conditions of the country. As per the company they are committed to invest in core R&D to create indigenous advanced cell technologies, strengthen manufacturing capabilities and create an integrated Ola Electric vehicles hub.

To develop advanced cells technology Ola Electric has allocated 20GWh capacity under the ACC PLI scheme by the Government of India. The company is also setting up a cell manufacturing facility with an initial capacity of upto 20 GWh, localising the most critical part of the EV value chain. Not only this but the company is also hiring some of the Best Brains in the field of cell technology to strengthen their Cell R&D team and for that they will employ 500 PhDs and Engineers. Very soon the company will also come up with its first electric four-wheeler.
