Indian market is been flooded with EV for the last couple of years and some of the top automobile companies have jumped into this new and most promising automobile sector. Majorly the EV sector is been dominated by electric two-wheelers and when we talk about electric two-wheelers, then it’s dominated by electric scooters. But in the last few months, electric motorcycles have made their presence felt. Today we are going to look at some of the top electric motorcycles available in India and how they fair against each other.

Battery, Motor and Power

Let’s start by comparing the most important components of EV and that is its battery, motor and the power and performance it delivers. If we look at the comparison chart, we can see that all motorcycle have very impressive figures. Tork Kratos and Oben Rorr have the most powerful battery and delivers impressive power to the motor that can propel the motorcycles to speeds that only can be seen on petrol engine-powered motorcycles. Revolt RV400 and Pure EV Etryst 350 are not far behind and provide a good mix of battery and motor power.

Oben Rorr which is yet to be launched claimed acceleration of 0-40 in just 3 seconds which makes it the fastest electric motorcycle, while the second spot is claimed by Tork Kratos, the third and fourth by Etryst 350 and Revolt RV400. When we look at the top speed of these electric motorcycles then Tork Kratos stands on the top with 105 kmph top speed followed by Oben Rorr at 100 kmph, and Etryst 350 and Revolt RV400 claiming a joint third spot with 85 kmph top speed which is also decent. If we look at the battery charging time for these motorcycles then the top spot goes to Oben Rorr which claims 0-100% charge in just 2 hours. The second spot goes jointly to Revolt RV400 and Tork Kratos with a charging time of 0-100% in approximately 4-5 hours and the third spot goes to Etryst 350 with a charging time of 6 hours.

Now let’s talk about another very important factor and that is the Range of these motorcycles on a single charge. Tork Kratos and Revolt RV400 come with an IDC range of 180 km each, Oben Rorr claims an IDC range of 200 km while the IDC range for Etryst 350 is not yet revealed by the company. The real-life riding range of Tork Kratos is around 120 km, for Revolt RV400 its between 80-150 km, for Etryst 350 its 90-140 km, and for Oben Rorr its 100-150 km. The riding range in real-life conditions depends on a lot of factors like riding mode, traffic conditions, braking, acceleration, payload, road condition, temperature, tyre air pressure, and riding style of the rider. More or less all the motorcycles come with a good riding range.

Features

Now let’s have a look at the features which I believe are more or less identical. All these motorcycles come with features like an LED headlamp, LED Taillamp, LED turn indicators, fully digital instrument cluster, Combined and Regenerative Braking system, Riding modes, disc brakes at both front and rear, telescopic front forks, and a monoshock at the rear. All the motorcycles get additional features like geofencing, geo-tagging, battery status, charging station locator, on-demand service, predictive maintenance, ride details, and roadside assistance which you can also be accessed using a mobile app. When it comes to weight, Revolt RV400 is the lightest at 108 kg, followed by Etryst 350 at 120 kg, Oben Rorr at 130 kg with Tork Kratos being the heaviest at 140 kg.

Warranty

All the companies offer a good warranty on the battery and motor. Revolt RV400 comes with a 6-year warranty on the battery, Etryst 350 offers 5 years, while Tork Kratos and Oben Rorr offer 3 years warranty on the battery. This is a big plus point that goes in the favour of Revolt RV400 as battery constitutes a major cost in the electric motorcycle and if the battery of your motorcycle is covered under warranty for 6 years then you are going to save some very big money.

Price

Now let’s look at the last but the most important factor of this comparison and that’s the price of these motorcycles. Tork Kratos is priced at Rs. 1.17 lakh, Revolt RV400 is priced at Rs. 90,799, and Oben Rorr is priced at Rs. 1.3 lakh. The prices shown in the video are Ex-showroom Delhi and include State and FAME II subsidies. These prices do not include Accessories, Insurance, Road tax, RTO Registration GST Etc. For the exact price, we strongly recommend that please do visit your nearest dealership.

The price for Etryst 350 is Rs. 1.55 lakh and this Price Does not include FAME II and State Subsidy, Accessories, Insurance, Road tax, RTO Registration, and GST. Again, we suggest you visit your nearest dealership for the right and exact prices.

Looking at these power figures, features, prices, and other factors we can see that these all have their strengths and weakness when compared. They all score on each other on different levels so it’s not easy to pick a favorite. I can pick a favorite but I would not do that and the sole reason behind not picking a winner is that it’s a good thing that people of the country have started shifting on the EVs which make each one of these a winner.

Electric mobility is our present, we must shift to electric mobility today and build a better tomorrow. A clean and green mobility is what we need.
